Dr Soha Paediatric Dentistry

Sedation and Sleep Dentistry

For some children, treatment in the dental chair isn’t the safest or kindest option. General anaesthesia (GA) allows us to complete all the necessary treatment in one visit while your child is fully asleep and comfortable.

When is general anaesthesia recommended?

We look forward to meeting your little one in our gentle, welcoming environment. Book your appointment today and experience the difference of compassionate, specialist paediatric care.

Extensive treatment is needed across multiple teeth

Your child is very young or unable to cooperate with treatment in the chair

Severe dental anxiety makes treatment while awake too distressing

Your child has medical, developmental or sensory needs that make chair-side care difficult

What to expect

Treatment is carried out in an accredited hospital or day surgery by our dentist, with a specialist anaesthetist looking after your child throughout. We’ll give you clear instructions on fasting and preparation beforehand, and most children go home the same day.

Before and after the procedure

We’ll start with a thorough consultation to plan treatment and answer your questions. Afterwards, your child may feel drowsy or a little unsettled for the rest of the day. We’ll provide aftercare advice and book a follow-up visit to check on their recovery.
